Sr. Vice President, Engineering, Cessna Aircraft Company
Michael Thacker is the Senior Vice President, Engineering, at Cessna Aircraft Company. He holds responsibility for all aircraft development activities, experimental fabrication and assembly, flight test operations and certification, as well as engineering for production and field support. Under his leadership, Cessna has launched and developed numerous new and derivative airplanes, including the Corvalis TTx, the Caravan EX, the 182 JT-A, the M2, the new Sovereign, the new Citation X, the Latitude and the Scorpion.
Before his current position, he held a number of other engineering and program management positions at Cessna, having joined the company in 1993. He contributed to the development of several airplanes, including the CJ2, CJ3, CJ4 and Encore.
Thacker is know for emphasizing teamwork, positive attitude, service and personal excellence, resulting in superior team performance. He earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in aerospace engineering from University of Kansas and also holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
