Georgia Spring Networking Event at McCollum Field, April 16
The Georgia Business Aviation Association (GBAA) will hold its Spring Airport Cookout on April 16 at the Atlanta Executive FBO on Cobb County Airport-McCollum Field (RYY) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Several aircraft will be on display at this networking and educational event, where GBAA members and airport tenants will discuss local operational issues. Chicago Group Holding Lunch Meeting, April 17
The Chicago Area Business Aviation Association (CABAA) will hold a luncheon meeting on April 17 at Hangar 8 on Chicago Executive Airport. The meeting will start with networking at 11 a.m. The luncheon speaker will be George Yundt with Dassault Falcon, who will provide a presentation on the Falcon 5X Next Generation Aircraft. In addition, a full size mockup will be on display. Hangar 8 is located at 109 S. Wolf Road on the airport; the meeting will be held in Hangar Bay 4. Connecticut Group’s Next Meeting Is in Hartford, April 17
The Connecticut Business Aviation Group (CTBAG) will hold its next quarterly meeting on April 17 at the Society Room in Hartford, CT. Featured speaker Jim Lara of Gray Stone Associates, a member of NBAA’s Safety Committee, will discuss how to create a sustainable culture the aviation team will rally around. Next Greater St. Louis Group Meeting Is April 22
The Greater St. Louis Business Aviation Association (GSLBAA) will hold a meeting on April 22 at The Landing at Spirit of St. Louis Airport (SUS) from 5 to 8 p.m. The meeting will feature discussions of the board and subcommittees’ work, news on upcoming events and opportunities to volunteer with the association. Fundamentals of IS-BAO Workshop Coming to Atlanta on April 22
The International Business Aviation Council holds a series of workshops to assist operators who are implementing, or considering implementing, the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO). A Fundamentals of IS-BAO Workshop will be held on April 22 in Atlanta, GA, and this event qualifies for NBAA Professional Development Program credit. See the full IS-BAO workshop schedule.

Minnesota Group to Meet at St. Paul Downtown Airport, April 23
The Minnesota Business Aviation Association (MBAA) will hold a lunch meeting on April 23 at Signature Flight Support, Hangar 510 on St. Paul Downtown Airport / Holman Field (STP) starting at 11:30 a.m. Dassault Falcon will be presenting the New Generation Falcon 5X with an aircraft mockup on display. Chicago Group Holding Annual Safety Day, April 24
The Chicago Area Business Aviation Association (CABAA) will hold its 8th Annual Safety Day at the Wyndham Glenview Suites in Glenview, IL on April 24. This year’s program will cover the legal aspects of a safety management system, safety culture, aviation leadership and other important topics. Attendance will count for NBAA Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) qualification and recertification credit. Breakfast, lunch and a cocktail reception are included, and the cost to attend is $45 for members and $60 for non-members. For more information and to register, visit the CABAA website.

Ohio Group’s OBATS Training Event to Be Held in Columbus, April 24
The Ohio Regional Business Aviation Association (ORBAA) will host its annual SM4 Seminar, the Ohio Business Aviation Training Standdown (OBATS) on April 24 in Columbus. This year’s event, featuring Dr. Tony Kern, CEO of Convergent Performance, will focus on simplifying safety and how to maximize the effectiveness of a safety management system. Greater Washington-Area Safety Standdown Offers Six Great Reasons to Attend
The Greater Washington Business Aviation Association's (GWBAA's) 8th Annual Safety Standdown will be held on Thursday, May 1 at the NTSB Training Center in Ashburn, Virginia. This event offers six great reasons to attend: (1) excellent topics and expert speakers, including keynote speaker Greg Feith, a former member of the NTSB and an aviation safety and security expert; (2) NBAA Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) credit; (3) safety training information and materials to take back to home base; (4) networking and idea exchanges with peers to compare SOPs and safety standards; (5) exposure to NTSB training academy and videos for use at home base; and (6) all event materials provided on a convenient thumb drive to take back to home base. Southern California Group Hosting College Roundtable on May 2
The Southern California Aviation Association (SCAA) is hosting an Aviation Careers College Roundtable on May 2 at Clay Lacy Aviation on Van Nuys Airport (VNY). A panel of business aviation professionals representing various careers will discuss getting started in the industry and how to pursue a role as a pilot, maintenance technician, flight attendant, dispatcher, salesperson, accountant or marketer. The Northern California Business Aviation Association (NCBAA) is holding a Safety Day focusing on “Advancing the Safety Culture Using a Hybrid Approach” on May 6 in San Jose, CA. Partnership for Corporate Aviation Training's Safety Smackdown Being Held in San Antonio This June
The Partnership for Corporate Aviation Training (PCAT) will host its annual Safety Smackdown from June 2 to 4 at the Country Inn & Suites in San Antonio, TX. Course topics will include satellite communications, fatigue countermeasures, high-altitude physiology, MEL training, cold-weather operations, safety management systems, crew resource management and much more. Texas Group Offering New Owner-Pilot Safety Training, June 3
The Texas-based Partnership for Corporate Aviation Training (PCAT) is introducing a new training program this year: a day-long Owner-Flown Symposium. To be held in San Antonio, TX on June 3 in conjunction with the three-day Safety Smackdown, the new workshop will focus specifically on the training needs of the owner-pilot. "Overall, our Safety Smackdown provides efficient and effective training for flight departments, and we wanted to include the owner-pilot as well," said Shelly deZevallos, president of PCAT. The International Business Aviation Council holds a series of workshops to assist operators who are implementing, or considering implementing, the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO). A Fundamentals of IS-BAO Workshop will be held on June 5 in San Antonio, TX, in conjunction with the PCAT Safety Smackdown, and on June 24 in New Castle, DE. Fundamentals of IS-BAO Workshop Schedule for Second Half of 2014
Fundamentals of IS-BAO Workshops will be held at many locations worldwide during the second half of 2014, including the following U.S. locations: July 15 in Alexandria, VA; July 22 in Cincinnati, OH; Aug. 19 in Tukwila, WA; Sept. 16 in Atlanta, GA; Sept. 23 in San Diego, CA; Oct. 14 in Memphis, TN; Nov. 6 in Manchester, NH; Nov. 18 in Houston, TX; and Dec. 2 in Orlando, FL.
