NBAA CONVENTION KICKS OFF
IN EIGHT WEEKS
The NBAA 56th Annual Meeting & Convention, to be held October 7, 8, 9, 2003, at the Orlando/Orange
County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, will feature close to 30,000 Attendees, 1,000 Exhibitors,
75 Informational Sessions and 135 aircraft on Static Display at Orlando Executive Airport.
"We are thrilled to report that in this economic climate, the NBAA Convention is doing
better than last year at the same point in time," said NBAA Vice President, Conventions
& Seminars Kathleen Blouin. "We have reservations for 4,348 exhibit booths versus
4,334 at NBAA2002. In addition, the number of Exhibiting Companies is up by 9 percent or 998

NBAA2003 TO FEATURE WRIGHT FLYER REPLICA
NBAA2003 will celebrate 100 years of flight with a special exhibit showcasing the most authentic
replica of the 1903 Wright Flyer. Under special arrangements by Eclipse Aviation and presented
by Ford Motor Company, EAA's Countdown to Kitty Hawk exhibit will be on display inside Orlando/Orange
County Convention Center Exhibit Hall C. The Experimental Aircraft Association commissioned
the replica, which adheres to the original design specifications of the Wright Brothers. Sponsors
for this exhibit include Eclipse Aviation, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Northrop Grumman and
NBAA. Also on display will be vintage aircraft simulators and authentic Wright Flyer artifacts

MICA TO KEYNOTE AT NBAA2003
The Opening General Session keynote speakers at NBAA2003 will be FAA Administrator Marion
C. Blakey and U.S. Representative John L. Mica (R-FL 7th), chairman of the House Aviation
Subcommittee (Congressional voting schedule permitting). This event will be held from 8:30

AUTHORITY ON WRIGHT BROTHERS TO GIVE
SPECIAL PRESENTATION AT NBAA2003
The chief historian and interpreter at the Wright Brothers National Memorial, Darrell M. Collins,
will give a special presentation on October 7 during the NBAA2003 Opening General Session.
With a career spanning more than 25 years, Collins is widely acknowledged as one of the top
five authorities on the Wright brothers and early aviation history. For more information,

FIRST CENTURY
OF FLIGHT AWARD WINNERS TO BE HONORED AT NBAA2003
The NBAA Board of Directors has selected Serge Dassault, David Ewald, Edward King Jr., Jerome
F. Lederer, Ray H. Siegfried II and John Tucker to receive special NBAA First Century of Flight
Awards, which recognize them for their significant contributions to the advancement of aviation
since the advent of powered flight 100 years ago. They will be honored on Thursday, October

ARNOLD PALMER TO BE FEATURED GUEST
AT NBAA GOLF CLASSIC
Golf legend Arnold Palmer will be the featured guest at the NBAA 7th Annual Chairman's Charity
Classic golf tournament on Sunday, October 5 at ChampionsGate Golf Resort near Orlando, FL,
to be held in conjunction with NBAA2003. The 2003 Classic will raise funds for Orlando's Arnold
Palmer Hospital for Children & Women, which is dedicated exclusively to serving the special
needs of children and women, relying on a family-centered philosophy to create a unique child-based
environment. Last year's Classic raised $47,000 for Challenge Air for Kids & Friends,

NBAA WELCOMES NEW SENIOR MANAGER,
REGIONAL FORUMS & STATIC DISPLAYS
On August 4, Suzanne P. Cole joined the NBAA Staff in the newly created position of senior
manager, regional forums & static displays. She is responsible for all aspects of Forum
planning, from budgeting and marketing to on-site management, as well as production of the
NBAA, EBACE and LABACE Exhibitor Directories and marketing the NBAA Seminar Program. Prior
to joining NBAA, Cole served as managing editor of Flying magazine, and she also worked for
five years as senior media liaison in the marketing department at GPS manufacturer Garmin
International. "Coming from our industry, Suzanne has first-hand knowledge of the needs
of NBAA Members and Exhibitors, and how to service those needs," said NBAA Vice President,
