Register in Advance for Next Month's Annual Meeting & Convention
NBAA's 61st Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2008) is expected to draw thousands of Attendees from around the world to Orlando, FL on Monday October 6 through Wednesday October 8 – a departure from the usual Tuesday-to-Thursday schedule. The event will be located at the Orange County Convention Center, with a Static Display of Aircraft at Orlando Executive Airport (ORL). Register online in advance for this year's Convention to save money and time. Advance registration is $150; on-site registration is $200. Those who register in advance can speed their entrance to the exhibit floor by picking up their badges, badge-holders and lanyards at the self-registration kiosks. NBAA to Honor Boyer and Saling During Convention in Orlando
The NBAA Board of Directors has announced the recipients of the Association's annual Meritorious Service to Aviation and John P. "Jack" Doswell Awards. Phil Boyer, president of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, will receive the 2008 NBAA Award for Meritorious Service to Aviation, and George Saling, former vice president of Aviation & Travel Services for Altria Corporate Services, Inc., will receive the 2008 NBAA John P. "Jack" Doswell Award. "NBAA is proud to recognize these two outstanding members of the aviation community for their tireless leadership efforts and dedication to enhancing the industry," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. Boyer and Saling will receive their awards during the NBAA 61st Annual Meeting & Convention next month. Read the full press release at:

NBAA Convention Opening General Session to Feature Industry Leaders
As in years past, NBAA2008 will feature an Opening General Session (OGS) that includes leaders from industry and government. International Civil Aviation Organization President Roberto Kobeh González, recognized for his life-long contributions to civil aviation in Central America, will give the keynote address on Monday, October 6 at 8:30 a.m. Additionally, the OGS will feature the well-known political couple James Carville and Mary Matalin, who will offer their perspectives on the November presidential election, marking the duo's second appearance at an NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention. One of the highlights of NBAA2008 will be the Charities Gala, which will include a Live and Silent Auction to raise money for NBAA Charities. This event will be held the evening of Tuesday, October 7 at The Rosen Centre Hotel from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and will feature entertainment by The Blues Brothers, featuring Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. 4th Annual NBAA Charities Auctions Accepting Donations
Donations are still being accepted for NBAA's 4th Annual Charities Auctions. The Live and Silent Auctions support NBAA Charities, a charitable fund established to provide assistance from the Association and the business aviation community to entities using business aircraft for humanitarian efforts. Beneficiaries include Corporate Angel Network, Angel Flight, ORBIS and Veterans AirLift Command. The Live Auction will be held during the NBAA Charities Gala on the evening of Tuesday, October 7. Silent Auction items will be on display prior to the Charities Gala. Become a Sponsor for NBAA 12th Annual Chairman's Charity Classic
The NBAA 12th Annual Chairman's Charity Classic Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, at the ChampionsGate Golf Resort in ChampionsGate, FL. The tournament will be held in conjunction with NBAA2008, and all proceeds will benefit NBAA Charities. Nearly $400,000 has been raised for various charities since the Classic's founding in 1997. Hundreds of Volunteers Needed to Help Build Orlando Playground
NBAA, BBA Aviation/Signature Flight Support and KaBOOM!, a national non-profit group, will join with Orlando residents and NBAA Member Companies to build a new aviation-themed playground in conjunction with NBAA2008. The playground will be built in one day, and nearly 300 volunteers will be needed to make NBAA Build 2008 a success. Serving as project chair will be Gary Boekenkamp, vice president, strategy and business development, BBA Aviation. NBAA2008 Attendees Urged to Take Advantage of NBAA Connect
NBAA is again offering the NBAA2008 Attendee portal NBAA Connect to help Attendees identify and connect with the people, products and sessions that best address their individual needs and interests. Those already registered for NBAA2008 can access NBAA Connect to help navigate through more than one million square feet of floor space, over 1,100 exhibits and over 100 Information Sessions. Make Convention Housing and Travel Reservations Online Now
NBAA has negotiated hotel rates for NBAA2008 to offer Attendees the lowest rates at official show hotels. With NBAA's package, Attendees will not have to pre-pay their hotel reservations, and will receive immediate confirmations as well as the option to update or cancel hotel reservations online without fees or penalties. 2009 Regional Forum Schedule Announced
The NBAA Business Aviation Regional Forum schedule for 2009 has been announced. The locations and dates for next year include: Dallas Love Field (DAL) in Dallas, TX on April 9; Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP) in Minneapolis, MN on June 25; and Henderson Executive Airport (HND) in Las Vegas, NV on September 17. NBAA Regional Forums bring business aircraft owners, operators, manufacturers, customers and other industry personnel together for one-day events at premier airports and fixed base operators in the U.S. and abroad, and are designed to meet the needs of regional business aviation communities, including providing information to local business leaders interested in learning more about business aviation. Exhibitor Space Still Available for NBAA's New Light Business Airplane Event
There is still time to secure exhibit space for NBAA's Inaugural Light Business Airplane Exhibition & Conference (LBA2009), to be held at Sand Diego's award-winning convention center in San Diego, CA from March 12–14, 2009. LBA2009 will serve as the industry's premier event dedicated to companies and operators who use light business airplanes to help them succeed. NBAA is extending invitations to concept buyers to ensure that those who would like to have full control of their business travel know how to get started. Exhibitors from every segment of light airplane business aviation are welcome, and there are approximately 1,000 exhibit spaces to fill. Secure Exhibit Space, Sponsorships for Annual S&D Conference
The NBAA 20th Annual Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Conference will be held next year from January 13 to 16 at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center in Long Beach, CA. The three-day event will feature a number of Information Sessions and Schedulers Professional Development Program courses addressing current needs and issues for the profession. The 2008 Conference in Savannah, GA was another record breaker, with 391 exhibiting companies and more than 2,600 registered Attendees. An even greater turnout is expected for 2009. ABACE Returns to Hong Kong in February
The 2009 NBAA Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE2009) will return to Hong Kong on Wednesday, February 11 and Thursday, February 12. Indoor exhibits will be located at the AsiaWorld-Expo, with a Static Display of Aircraft at the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre. This year's event was an enormous success, with a total of 1,131 people and 29 Exhibitors in attendance, and numerous sessions featuring industry experts discussing airspace and regulatory issues for operating in the Asian region. EBACE Dates Announced for 2009
The 9th annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2009) will return next year to Geneva on May 12 through 14. EBACE is the preeminent forum for the European business aviation community to find products and services from the world's top vendors. This year's EBACE marked an eighth consecutive year of growth that was hailed as the best event yet in recognizing the contribution of business aviation to regional economies, with a total of 13,692 Attendees.
