Machinists Union President, Industry Advocate Buffenbarger to
Speak at NBAA2009
Joining Babbit, Karlgaard and Palmer as speakers at NBAA2009's Opening General Session on October 20 will be Tom Buffenbarger, international
president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), among the largest industrial trade unions in North America. IAM
represents nearly 700,000 active and retired members in dozens of industries, including workers employed in business aircraft manufacture. In his
capacity as president, Buffenbarger often relies on a Learjet 60 to meet his transportation needs. He will speak not only to the value of the
business aviation manufacturing sector to the nation's economic interest, but also to the essential role IAM's airplane serves in increasing the
union's effectiveness and decreasing its costs. Learn more and view his video welcome to Convention Attendees at:

NBAA Welcomes Report Showing Business Aviation's
Value
NBAA recently welcomed a new study showing that companies using business aviation outperform those that do not. The study concludes: "Business
aircraft users had a dominant presence, on average of 92 percent, among the most innovative, most admired, best brands and best places to work, as
well as dominating the list of companies strongest in corporate governance and responsibility." NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen commented, "This
study shows what the people in the business aviation community have always known: a business airplane is the sign of a well-managed company, because
business aviation helps companies of all sizes be more efficient, productive and competitive." For more information and to view the study, visit:
