By Every Measure, EBACE2012 a Strong Show
The 12th Annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2012), held May 14 through 16 in Geneva, Switzerland, was one of the strongest EBACE shows yet, demonstrating its value even amidst a challenging European economy. A total of 12,638 Attendees participated, representing 99 countries both numbers on par with last year's show. Additionally, 491 Exhibitors were on hand, occupying a record-breaking 2,280 booth spaces at the Geneva Palexpo convention center. Furthermore, EBACE2012 featured 60 aircraft on its Static Display of Aircraft with a 10 percent increase in ramp space, making it the largest-ever EBACE Static Display. Review the EBACE2012 results.
NBAA2012 Taking Shape: Exhibitor Space Available
NBAA's 65th Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2012), recently ranked eighth in the 2011 Trade Show News Network Top 250 Trade Shows, is already shaping up to be the best yet. In addition to the thousands of Attendees and Exhibitors on-site at the Orange County Convention Center from October 30 through November 1, highlights will include hundreds of education sessions, the popular Static Display of Aircraft at Orlando Executive Airport (ORL), a Light Business Airplane Static Display adjacent to the convention center, a Benefit Gala featuring the Four Tops' Frankie Valli and benefiting Corporate Angel Network, and presenters Mary Matalin and James Carville the famed political couple among others. Sponsorships Available for Teterboro and Seattle Forums
The Teterboro Regional Forum will be held on Thursday, June 7, where indoor exhibits will showcase the latest products and services and an outdoor static display will feature the newest aircraft models. Education sessions will include topics such as aircraft transactions in an evolving market, a European aviation tax update, best practices for transitioning from paper to digital charts and more. These events offer an opportunity to underscore the importance of the industry to local leaders in business and government. Following the Regional Forum at Teterboro, another event of its kind will be held in Seattle, WA on September 20. Exhibit space has sold out at Teterboro, but limited space remains at Seattle. Flight Attendants Conference in Chicago Next Month
The NBAA Flight Attendants/Flight Technicians Conference is designed to enable business aviation flight attendants and flight technicians to provide the highest standards of cabin safety, security and service to their passengers and fellow crewmembers. In keeping with the tradition of presenting "real world" stories of high-pressure situations, Attendees of the event will hear from crewmembers of US Airways Flight 1549 known as the "Miracle on the Hudson." First officer Jeff Skiles and flight attendant Doreen Welsh will discuss how they ensured the safety of all passengers and crew during this tense situation. Act Now to Participate in 16th Annual Chairman's Charity Classic
The NBAA 16th Annual Chairman's Charity Classic Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, October 29, at Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, in conjunction with NBAA2012. All proceeds from the event will benefit NBAA Charities, which raises funds to support philanthropic organizations and initiatives that use general aviation airplanes for humanitarian purposes. With hundreds of golfers, this year's tournament will feature numerous quality sponsorships. All sponsorships include recognition on the sponsorship banner at the course, and most packages include player positions in the tournament. NBAA Scholarship Program Celebrating 20th Anniversary
It was during the 1992 NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention that the Association handed out its first four scholarships. Since then, NBAA's scholarship program, which is generously supported through Member contributions, has distributed several million dollars in monetary and training scholarships to college students seeking jobs in business aviation and to industry professionals interested in advancing their careers. "We've had many, many scholarship winners who've gone on to have outstanding careers in business aviation," said NBAA's Jay Evans.
