CBS News Story Shows ‘True Face’ of Business Aviation
May 17, 2009
Over the weekend, CBS News aired a rare segment about business aviation that explained to viewers the true story about the industry’s value to citizens, companies and communities across the US. The story featured comments from Wes Stowers, chairman of NBAA Member Company Stowers Machinery Corporation, a Knoxville, TN-based Caterpillar dealership that relies on a King Air 350 and a jet to reach places the airlines don’t fly. The story reported that only 500 American cities are served by commercial airlines, while general aviation can access 5,000 smaller airports across the country.
NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen said “We are pleased to finally see a mainstream news organization explain the value business of aviation to companies like Stowers Machinery Corporation.”
