NBAA Helps Set the Record Straight About President Obama's Attack on Business Aviation

July 1, 2011

CNN's fact check of President Obama's call for a repeal of accelerated depreciation for business aircraft says the effort would raise $3 billion over 10 years, "just a drop in the bucket" of the $2-4 trillion Congress wants to save in the same time period. NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen told CNN "The president basically outlined the equivalent of a $100 problem and yet his solution would raise less than a penny." Bolen added that business aircraft are "products that are manufactured in the United States, maintained in the United States, and, as any small town mayor will tell you, are critical to the future of a lot of our small towns and rural communities without good airline service."
