Contact: Cassandra Bosco

Washington, DC, April 14, 2003 - Entergy Services, Inc. became the first U.S. flight department to be issued an International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) Certificate of Registration. IS-BAO, the first internationally recognized operating standard for the corporate aviation community, is a code of best practices designed to help flight departments worldwide achieve a high level of safety and professionalism.

The IS-BAO Certificate of Registration was presented in late March to Oliver W. Trowbridge, Entergy manager, aviation & travel, by Don Spruston, International Business Aviation Council director general, and Bob Blouin, NBAA senior vice president, operations. To date, more than 140 IS-BAO packages have been sold, and numerous companies are working toward achieving IS-BAO Certificates of Registration.

The next IS-BAO training session will be held on May 10 and 11 in Geneva, Switzerland as part of a two-day Flight Operations Manual Workshop, which will enable participants to develop a flight operations manual using IS-BAO. The Workshop will be held in conjunction with EBACE2003, the only European exhibition of its kind to focus totally on business aviation.

Flight Operations Manual Workshop participants will receive:

  • IS-BAO Standards and Recommended Practices
  • IS-BAO Generic Company Operations Manual
  • Extensive supplementary class notes
  • Computer media containing all course materials
  • Five-year update service for IS-BAO materials
