Twenty-eight Candidates Took CAM Exam in Orlando; Three Exams Scheduled for 2004

Contact: Cassandra Bosco

Washington, DC, October 20, 2003 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announces that 28 candidates took the first Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) Examination on Monday, October 6 in conjunction with the NBAA 56th Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando, FL. NBAA plans to announce the first group of Certified Aviation Managers in mid-November.

NBAA developed the CAM Program for either current or aspiring business aviation flight department managers to enhance their professional credibility and to recognize them for meeting certain educational and management requirements. A fundamental purpose of the CAM Program is to promote the interests of business aviation stakeholders - including employers, direct users of the corporate flight department and others such as the general public - by identifying and certifying flight department managers who have successfully demonstrated knowledge and skills in the management of business aviation.

The 28 candidates who took the exam on October 6 are experienced individuals from the business aviation community, including pilots, chief pilots, maintenance managers and flight department managers. All had qualified to take the exam through a required application process earlier this year.

CAM Exams are scheduled to be held in 2004 in conjunction with the following NBAA events:

  • NBAA Corporate Aviation Management Conference, date to be determined, Anaheim, CA
  • NBAA Maintenance Management Conference, date and location to be determined
  • NBAA 57th Annual Meeting & Convention, October 2004, Las Vegas, NV

For more information about the CAM Program, contact NBAA at [email protected] or visit http://www.nbaa.org/cam.

NBAA represents the aviation interests of 7,500 companies that own or operate general aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion — a number that is about half the gross domestic product — and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is the world's largest display of civil aviation products and services.
