WASHINGTON, DC, September 20, 2006 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today announced that "NBAA Charities" will serve as the single label used to represent the variety of support it provides or generates for philanthropic organizations.

Through the years, NBAA has served as a natural focal point for the generation of assistance to charitable organizations.

For instance, the NBAA Annual Chairman's Charity Classic Golf Tournament and the NBAA Annual Live and Silent Benefit Auctions – both held in conjunction with NBAA's Annual Meeting & Convention – have helped support a wide range of philanthropic organizations, including Angel Flight America, the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund, the Corporate Angel Network and the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.

Funds and other assistance provided by NBAA and the business aviation community have helped kids get access to highly specialized medical treatment; delivered assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina; supported charities in cities where NBAA has held its Annual Meeting & Convention; and even advanced the mission of the Udvar-Hazy Center.

"The variety of organizations behind these and other worthwhile charitable efforts will be better served with a single name, 'NBAA Charities,'" said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "I am confident that taking this approach will increase awareness and strengthen our philanthropic efforts."

NBAA Charities is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent that they are permissible by IRS regulations.
