Washington, DC, Aug. 28, 2024 – To aid in its mission of arranging business aircraft travel for cancer patients seeking treatment, Corporate Angel Network (CAN) is bringing back its annual Fund an Angel fundraiser to the 2024 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).

The event is set for 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on the Waterbleau Terrace. NBAA-BACE attendees are invited to join business aviation colleagues for an evening of networking, refreshments and a silent auction, all while raising awareness for CAN’s mission.

“As our most important fundraiser of the year, Fund an Angel proceeds enable us to grow our mission, helping cancer patients during the worst times of their lives,” said CAN President and CEO Robert Stangarone. “We are grateful to NBAA and the business aviation community for their generosity and support of this important event through sponsorships, the silent auction, donations and ticket purchases.”

CAN is seeking donations for its silent auction – either a unique item or an experience.

Last year’s event raised nearly $500,000 through sponsorships, individual donations and the silent auction. That auction included items such as tennis rackets signed by Roger Federer, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf; various flight training packages from CAE and FlightSafety International; jet fuel cards; Apple watches; club-level Giants football tickets and various vacation packages.

The organization facilitated more than 2,000 cancer patient flights in 2023, matching patients needing transportation to or from treatment with available seats aboard business jets. They were among the more than 68,000 cancer patient flights that the organization has arranged since its inception 42 years ago. CAN works with more than 500 corporations, including half of the Fortune 100 companies, to fulfill its mission.

“Business aviation is a community dedicated to giving back and helping those in need,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “This event, coupled with CAN’s long history of organizing humanitarian flights with business aircraft, perfectly aligns with these values. We are thrilled to once again support this essential organization.”
