Dean Saucier, who for 17 years has served as NBAA’s Northeast regional representative, was recently honored with a Massachusetts Aviation Hall of Fame Award, which is presented annually by the Massachusetts Airport Management Association (MAMA) to an individual who exemplifies outstanding commitment to aviation in the commonwealth. Saucier was presented with the award at the recent MAMA conference in Amherst, MA.
“We wanted to acknowledge Dean for his extraordinary efforts to advance aviation in Massachusetts – legislatively, economically and socially,” said David Dinneen, MAMA’s executive director. “He has been a strong, reliable partner to us in Massachusetts, year in and year out.” Dinneen, MAMA President Robert Mallard and NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen were on hand to present Saucier with the award.
As one of NBAA’s original regional representatives, Saucier has been at the forefront of numerous campaigns to ensure business aviation’s continued safe and unrestricted access to airspace and airports across a 10-state region of the U.S.
In Massachusetts, he was a key player in the successful fight to keep Hanscom Field (BED) open, and was instrumental in the formation of the Massachusetts Aviation Legislative Caucus.
“Dean is a passionate business aviation advocate and organizer, a supportive member resource and an inspiring leader,” said Bolen. “He is well-deserving of this prestigious award.”
A U.S. Air Force veteran, 7,000-hour pilot and former Gulfstream and Beechcraft sales manager, Saucier flies more than 175 hours a year in his Beechcraft V-35B Bonanza in support of NBAA.
