Annemarie McDonald Oxman, SHRM-SCP, is chief people officer (CPO) for the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). As CPO, Oxman oversees all aspects of NBAA’s human resources (HR) operation, including employee recruitment and hiring, training, benefits management, and compensation and policy development.

Oxman brings to the position nearly 25 years of experience in such HR functions as employment law and compliance, training and development, performance management, employee relations, talent management and retention, benefit and compensation, and reward and recognition programs, among others.

Before joining NBAA, Oxman served as director of human resources for the American Petroleum Institute (API). There, she provided leadership and management for all HR functions of the organization, which had more than 300 employees and 100 retirees, six allied organizations and four international offices.

Prior to API, Oxman was director of human resources at Best Practices, Inc., an emergency medical services staffing company in Fairfax, VA. She was responsible for serving more than 250 clinical and professional staff located throughout the U.S.

Oxman has also served as senior vice president of human resources at the Consumer Electronics Association, where she was a member of the executive team responsible for helping to define organizational goals and strategies to maximize the success of the 150-employee trade association. She has held several additional key human relations positions at organizations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Oxman holds a B.A. in psychology from North Carolina State University and an M.S. in applied behavioral sciences from Johns Hopkins University.
