With concerns about diversity, inclusion and understanding at the forefront of multiple aspects of life across the United States and throughout the world – including for aviation – Jo  Damato, NBAA’s vice president of educational strategy and workforce development, will participate in an upcoming panel sponsored by the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) to identify means of working together to move beyond racial injustice and other prejudices within the industry and beyond, and further toward shared goals of diversity and inclusion.

The virtual town hall, taking place  at 3 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday, June 16, is the second in OBAP’s “Courageous Conversations” series of online panels bringing together a mix of industry leaders to address matters of discrimination and injustice within the aviation and aerospace communities.

“I’m honored to participate in this important discussion about how we may confront these prejudices head-on, so we may then begin to develop solutions to eliminate them,” Damato said. “I look forward to joining with my peers at OBAP and nine other industry groups to identify methods by which we may all promote greater diversity and inclusion across our industry, including within business aviation.”
