The Maintenance Committee addresses the high-level strategic issues pertinent to the maintenance operations of NBAA membership. The committee aims to provide a forum for ideas and ways to connect NBAA members with peer companies and regulatory agencies. The committee has oversight of the Maintenance Conference and the Maintenance Scholarship programs. NBAA members can forward questions, comments, or suggestions.

Subcommittees

  • Connectivity

    Promotes improvements, education and industry-leading best practices to enhance corporate aircraft connectivity for data, network and voice communications. This forum uses working groups to define connectivity issues and terminology by communicating content and deliverables to the NBAA membership.

  • Environmental & Sustainability

    Promotes environmental sustainability throughout business aviation by creating education, leading best practices and advocating for sustainable efforts that contribute to and enhance organizational goals.

  • Maintenance Conference

    Responsible for the planning, execution and overall experience of the annual NBAA Maintenance Conference.

  • Regulatory & Operational Compliance

    Works with regulatory agencies and organizations globally to provide guidance on regulations, develop standards, guide policy statements and implement procedures that serve the strategic interests of aviation maintenance. The committee is an active voice for the maintenance function and focuses on educating technicians and others engaged in the aviation industry on best practices in operations in business aviation.

  • Safety

    Provides focus on safety and risk concerns, ideas, best practices and solutions central to aviation maintenance and its unique challenges, no matter the size or scope of operation. Additionally, the subcommittee is a liaison between the NBAA Safety and Maintenance Committees to ensure these specific needs and solutions are voiced and available to the NBAA membership.

  • Scholarship

    Through NBAA Charities, this subcommittee manages and promotes scholarships directly related to the aviation maintenance profession, targeting business aviation.

  • Social Media/Public Relations

    Promotes the committee’s activities through social media and publications, providing educational resources and announcements supporting business aviation maintenance functions. Also manages nominations and committee communication.

  • Workforce Development

    Addresses the current and long-term personnel shortages and educational challenges in aviation maintenance through engagement with secondary and post-secondary education, industry partners and the military to address the demands of business aviation. Additionally, outreach and mentorship initiatives focus on Part 147 schools, transitioning military personnel and individuals seeking opportunities to advance their careers in the industry.
