The Republican and Democratic leaders of the House Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee announced the leadership and members of the T&I aviation subcommittee on January 20, 2011.

“The message from the voters in November was clear,” said T&I Committee Chairman Rep. John L. Mica (R-7-FL), in a public statement. “The Committee must find ways to create jobs, cut waste in government, and do more with less. This important work begins at the Subcommittees, and I am confident these experienced Chairmen and Members will provide dedicated, effective leadership as the Subcommittees work to improve our nation’s infrastructure in a fiscally responsible manner.”

Rep. Nick J. Rahall (D-3-WV), ranking Democrat on the committee, said that his colleagues stand ready to work with Republicans to make investments in transportation that will fuel the economy and keep America on the road to recovery.”I look forward to working with Chairman John Mica and the Members of the Committee as we create jobs and get Americans back to work,” he said.
