Universal Weather and Aviation Chairman Greg Evans

H.R.2997, a bill to privatize ATC oversight, continues prompting an outpouring of activism from the business aviation community, with a host of voices ensuring they are heard with Congress – and urging others to do likewise – when it comes to the highly controversial legislation.

For example, Universal Weather and Aviation Chairman Greg Evans recently invited all Universal employees – as well as customers, partners and –suppliers – to use NBAA’s Contact Congress resource to express their concerns about the bill, which would strip congressional oversight of the National Airspace System.

“I’m writing to you personally, to make sure you are aware that our industry urgently needs your help in fighting legislation that, if passed, will privatize air traffic control [and] potentially threaten the future of business aviation and our livelihoods,” Evans wrote. “We’ve rallied together before to defeat onerous legislation, and we must do so again.”

In addition to targeted messages, Universal’s outreach efforts include web banners, social media campaigns, and face-to-face communications.
