NBAA has joined with more than three dozen other industry stakeholders in support of the Senate Commerce Committee’s initiative to modernize the nation’s air traffic control (ATC) system.
“We appreciate the hard work of Chairman Cruz and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Technology to address these decades-old issues by building on their work in the 2024 FAA Reauthorization law. The committee’s approach is a necessary downpayment on achieving these benefits for the Americans who fly and ship goods every day,” the Modern Skies Coalition’s June 6 statement reads.
“As stakeholders from across the aviation industry, the Modern Skies Coalition is united in sounding the alarm about the challenges created by aging technology and infrastructure, as well as the controller and technician staffing shortages,” the coalition wrote.
The Modern Skies Coalition, composed of NBAA and other national and international aviation associations, trade unions, manufacturers and others, emphatically stated such investments are needed to ensure the United States remains “the gold standard” for aviation safety.
