Aviation access, and its contribution to the community and economy of northwest Wyoming, will begin a new chapter on Nov. 7, when Gov. Matt Mead is slated to cut the ribbon at the new Hot Springs County Airport (HSG), located approximately 10 miles northwest of Thermopolis, WY. The new airport will replace the Hot Springs-Thermopolis Municipal Airport (THP). “The replacement airport site is well equipped to support air transportation and economic development and will continue to provide critical access to the community for medical specialists, tourists and various businesses for many years to come,” said Dennis Byrne, administrator of the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division.
