Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN), serving Sun Valley, ID, will be undergoing the last major phase of a significant airport reconfiguration as part of a plan to bring the airport into compliance with the Lautenberg Runway Safety Act. In order to accomplish the project in a timely manner and with the least possible impact to the traveling public, the airport will be closed from 8 a.m. local time April 26 until noon local time May 20.

This reconfiguration primarily focuses on the relocation of the airport taxiway, west of the runway. As a result, the airport passenger terminal and parking lot also require reconfiguring. During this period, the terminal will be inaccessible to the public for the conduct of any business.

Alternative airports during the closure that are nearby include Twin Falls (TWF), Boise (BOI) and Idaho Falls (IDA).

Visit to the airport’s website for additional details.
