Runway 5/23 at New Jersey’s Morristown Municipal Airport (MMU) will have scheduled daily closures from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (EDT), Aug. 12 to 18, due to runway maintenance projects. These daily closures are needed to allow for necessary maintenance work, scheduled surveying, installation of ground water monitoring wells and geotechnical studies for the advancement of the larger runway safety area and Runway 5/23 rehabilitation project.

Runway 13/31 will remain available during the closures and is 3,997 feet long and 150 feet wide. In addition, a complete airport closure to fixed-wing operations will occur on Aug.12 between noon and 1 p.m., with a rain date of Aug. 13, due to the need to close both runways.

Review the airport’s website for additional information.
