NBAA urges operators to be vigilant in thoroughly reviewing instrument arrival and departure procedures documentation following a series of recent changes at New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport (TEB).

Currently, both the TEB ILS Z and LOC Z approach and the RNAV (GPS) Y approach to Runway 06 were amended, with the DANDY waypoint now requiring a mandatory crossing altitude at 1,300′, a decrease of 200’.

The FAA amended the ILS Z or LOC Z approach to Runway 06 at TEB, as well as the RNAV (GPS) Y approach to the runway, with the DANDY waypoint now requiring a mandatory crossing altitude at 1,300′, a decrease of 200’.

Pilots are cautioned to be aware of the lowering of the long-standing crossing altitude restriction at DANDY from a mandatory 1,500’ to a mandatory 1,300’, which is intended to deconflict TEB landing traffic from aircraft departing from nearby Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

“The FAA continually reviews procedures across the national airspace system and makes necessary revisions when warranted,” said Heidi Williams, NBAA vice president for Air Traffic Services and infrastructure. “Flight crews must be vigilant in reviewing all relevant procedures when operating to any airport, even to frequent destinations, to ensure their awareness of such changes and to maintain operational safety.”

NBAA further cautions operators at TEB that the revised arrival procedures may not be fully reflected yet in electronic flight plan chart plates and plan view graphics.
