The FAA will host the first of a monthly series of Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) User Forums at 12;30 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday, May 21, providing operators an opportunity to hear updates on NOTAM modernization efforts and interact with the agency and program leadership.

The first session will include an introduction of the NOTAM modernization program, and an overview of the NOTAM Management Service transition planning process and progress made to date. Agency leadership will also brief users on upcoming changes to the program, including how NOTAMs are originated and distributed, as well as the benefits to users.

FAA representatives will receive and answer questions throughout the webinar but also encourage attendees to submit questions by email to notams@faa.gov before the forum.

“NBAA appreciates the FAA’s commitment to communicate recent and planned changes to the NOTAM system with industry,” said Heidi Williams, NBAA senior director, air traffic services and infrastructure. “We encourage pilots and others involved in flight planning to attend the forum this Wednesday and mark their calendars for future webinars.”

The forums will be hosted by General Dynamics, which is contracted by the FAA to modernize the FAA’s Administrative Voice Enterprise Services, or FAVES.
