Inspirational pilot Barrington Irving has been flying relief missions to the Bahamas since Hurricane Dorian destroyed portions of the island nation and left many in desperate need of help. “When the storm first hit, our mission was to see, OK what supplies can we take in and then which search-and-rescue folks can we also bring in,” Irving said.

At NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), Irving will receive the American Spirit Award for his years of work inspiring young people. Learn more about this award.

In 2007, Irving became the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world in a single-engine airplane.
