Pilots, schedulers, dispatchers or anyone whose job depends on the weather will benefit from a free Jeppesen-sponsored weather charts webinar hosted by NBAA. The course, which will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. EDT, will not only reintroduce the charts and symbology that some aviators may overlook, but it also will show how those tools, when used together, can paint the big picture of a weather system.

Topics covered in this comprehensive one-hour presentation include weather chart analysis, high-level significant weather charts, surface analysis charts, weather depiction charts, significant weather prognostic charts and turbulence and radar summary charts.

“Pilots and planners may only look at one or two charts they’re comfortable with, rather than all of them,” said Jeremy Vincent, training center manager at the Jeppesen Academy. “Like a pro baseball player, you need to come back to fundamentals or you’ll get rusty.”

This webinar is an opportune time for pilots and others who use weather information to get back to basics, said Jo Damato, NBAA’s director of educational development and strategy. “Let’s get to know what we used to know,” she said.

Vincent said there would be an opportunity to pose questions at the end of the session. Questions can also be sent directly to him at Jeremy.vincent@jeppesen.com.

The webinar is free for NBAA Members, and $99 for non-Members, but pre-registration is required.
