Due to a runway and taxiway rehabilitation project, Runway 13L/31R at Dallas Love Field (DAL) will be closed through 6 a.m. (CDT) Aug. 25. The construction project includes the conversion of the decommissioned Runway 18/36 to a taxiway.
ATC traffic management initiatives are possible during the Runway 13L/31R closure due to a single runway operation utilizing Runway 13R/31L. The arrival acceptance rates will be reduced as follows:
- During times of VMC – reduction in arrival rates from 30-36 to 22-24
- During times of IMC – reduction in arrival rates from 30 to 20-22
Departure delays of 15-29 minutes are possible during peak arrival or departure periods. ATC traffic management initiatives to include mile-in-trail restrictions, airborne holding and ground delay programs are possible during the runway closure.
