Due to a runway rehabilitation project at San Diego International Airport (SAN), Runway 9/27 will be closed daily from midnight to 5 a.m. local time. The closures will run Monday through Saturday mornings through Friday, Oct 26, 2018.
As this is the only runway at SAN, fixed-wing operations will not be allowed during the closure.
With only five hours of construction time each night, every minute is critical to the project’s success; necessitating the prompt closure of the runway precisely at midnight. Weather or mechanical delays will not constitute just reasoning to delay the start of the nightly closure, so operators should plan accordingly.
