U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is transitioning Japan from a limited Global Entry (GE) pilot arrangement to a full partnership.
This change will make GE benefits available to a greater number of Japanese travelers, removing previous applicant limits. This full partnership will allow Japanese citizens to apply for the GE program through the standard application process.
“Trusted traveler programs make visiting the U.S. smoother and more efficient for international visitors by expediting border processes and improving security, ultimately enhancing the overall travel experience,” said Laura Everington, NBAA director, international operations and regulations. “This is great news for enrolled Japanese citizens traveling to the U.S.”
CBP says it is committed to growing the GE program and modernizing operations at U.S. ports of entry.
Japan joins a growing list of full partner countries that includes Argentina, Bahrain, Brazil, Colombia, Croatia, the Dominican Republic, Germany, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, Panama, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
