Last week NBAA submitted comments to the FAA’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on air carrier contract maintenance requirements. The NPRM seeks to require the development of policies, procedures, methods and instructions for performing contract maintenance to be included in operator maintenance manuals of Part 135 operators of aircraft type certificated with a passenger seating configuration of 10 seats or more. It also would require affected operators to provide to FAA a list of all persons with whom the the operator contracts for maintenance.
