Facebook Linkedin Reddit Twitter Email A 5-Year Compendium of Lessons Learned The aviation community has greatly benefited from a long-held tradition of thoroughly investigating accidents and incidents to help the industry gain new and potentially lifesaving insights from lessons learned. For years, NBAA has sought to support the concept of learning from mistakes by regularly writing and publishing articles about recent business aircraft accidents with expert analysis based on NTSB reports. Now, for the first time, NBAA has collected these informative and insightful articles published during the past five years and created an important and useful resource – a compendium that highlights best safety practices based on expert analysis of 15 accidents, each with potential applications for business aviation pilots and operators. The compendium includes a foreword by one of the nation’s leading accident investigators, Robert Sumwalt, a former NTSB chairman with experience leading flight operations for a Fortune 500 company. Aviation safety has recently been under scrutiny perhaps as never before, and NBAA is providing expert guidance on lessons learned through publications like this one, as well as educational programs and technology showcases to assist the business aviation community and redouble our focus on what works. This resource is general in nature and is not intended as legal advice with respect to any particular flight operation.
