April 27, 2020

The Flight Safety Foundation, in partnership with NBAA, will host its 65th annual Business Aviation Safety Summit on April 29 and 30 in a new online format known as Virtual BASS, designed to encourage participation in the current COVID-19 environment.

This annual event is widely recognized as a premier forum and must-attend event for the business aviation industry to collaboratively identify safety concerns and develop risk mitigation methods. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic necessitating an online platform in 2020, this year’s Virtual BASS is expected to again provide an outstanding opportunity for business aviation safety professionals to learn from top experts in the fields of aviation medicine and aviation safety.

The global COVID-19 pandemic will be the focus of this year’s program, with highlights including:

  • An opening keynote address by FAA Administrator Steve Dickson
  • A session featuring aviation medical experts
  • A “fireside chat” with FAA Associate Administrator of Aviation Safety Ali Bahrami about how the industry can return to normal
  • A special session titled “Beyond Covid-19: Looking to the Future After the Crisis Passes,” moderated by NBAA’s Safety Committee Chair Tom Huff.

The closing session will look beyond COVID-19 with members of NBAA’s Safety Committee discussing safety data-sharing programs and other safety initiatives that impact business aviation more broadly.

Virtual BASS will consist of four live webinars: two webinars on Wednesday, April 29, and two on Thursday, April 30. All aviation professionals involved in aircraft operations and safety, training, maintenance, development and manufacturing are encouraged to register and attend.
