Jonathan Hanna is using an NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Monetary Scholarship to launch his career sky-high.
Hanna, a Masters graduate of Florida Institute of Technology, received his scholarship in January 2014 at the Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference in New Orleans. As a direct result of winning the Monetary Scholarship, he was able to obtain his FAA Dispatcher License after completing online coursework and a mandatory three-week class session held at Universal Weather & Aviation in Houston, TX.
Currently serving as duty supervisor at Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport, Hanna said the opportunities made possible by the scholarship have helped to advance his career. “The license has definitely given me a greater operational insight to my present job, allowing for a greater understanding of some of the airlines operations and the day to day challenges they face,” he said.
Although he admits it was not an easy feat, obtaining his FAA Dispatcher License has given him more confidence in his own skills and prepared him for a long career in aviation. With the help of an NBAA S&D Scholarship, this dedicated professional is well on his way to achieving his dreams.
