Small Flight Departments

Small business aviation flight departments represent roughly 80% of NBAA’s operating membership. Because personnel employed in small flight departments are often tasked with multiple roles (flying, scheduling/dispatching, managing maintenance, daily administration, etc.), people fulfilling these roles need to develop multiple skill sets and a broader knowledge than someone working in a large department with more specific roles. The Small Flight Department Subcommittee of NBAA’s Domestic Operations Committee was created specifically to address the unique nature and requirements of working in a small business aviation flight department.
