Buyer’s Guide to a Successful Aircraft Transaction

To successfully complete an aircraft transaction requires a team effort, from aviation attorneys, tax professionals, lenders and aircraft brokers, everyone needs to have an organized approach and clear goals. Be prepared for the process with a simple buyer’s guide that identifies best practices and avoids pitfalls. During this session, attendees will learn how to:

  • Bring structure to the aircraft transaction process and build a team for success
  • Utilize NBAA resources, including the Aircraft Transactions Guide
  • Evaluate competing considerations during the transaction process, for example, tax planning vs. FAA compliance.

Creating Public-Private Partnerships at Business Aviation Airports

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facilities at GA airports can improve tenant services, provide convenience for international travelers and grow the economy. In 2015, Van Nuys Airport launched CBP services under the federal User Fee Airport Program, which reimburses CBP with fees collected from arriving aircraft. During this session, attendees will learn how to:

  • Understand the process to become a designated port of entry under the federal user fee airport program.
  • Review the required federal guidelines for airports to establish a designated user fee clearance facility
  • Collaborate with airport users and government regulators to improve services at airports, including airport improvements and managing associated construction.

IS-BAO and IS-BAH: Leading the Way in Business Aviation Safety

Through IS-BAO and IS-BAH, aircraft operators and ground handlers have recognized standardization programs that meet safety management system (SMS) requirements around the world. During this session, attendees will learn how to:

  • Implement quality processes, policies and procedures to proactively reduce risk
  • Apply best practices for implementing SMS standards to any size flight operation or FBO.
  • Maintain and improve operations through achieving IS-BAO stage 3 performance.
