The Corporate Pilot’s Role in Maintenance Management

Cost & Common Sense – Your Maintenance Department Business Case

Outsourcing versus in-house maintenance; either way aircraft owners/operators by design must comply with all regulatory aspects related to required maintenance or inspection programs, life limited parts status and aircraft configuration to include document control. Making the Connection for a Lifetime – Considerations for Maintaining a Reliable Aircraft Wiring System

Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) may appear to be low priority for aircraft maintenance, it is now undoubtedly an important part of the aircraft safety and reliability. Accidental damage, environmental damage and quality escape from production can have a significant impact on connectivity, lightning and High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) protective systems and fuel tank safety. The session will provide an overview of the wiring system from a sustainment, compliance, assessment, and maintainability viewpoints and provide a better basis for wire system related inspection techniques and decisions considering new designs in today’s connectors. The EWIS sustainment section will review new and existing test methods for determining system health and means of fault detection/isolation. From a regulatory compliance view, wire system requirements that must be considered for design and sustainment will be reviewed.
