CPE Credit

Attending NBAA’s Business Aviation Taxes Seminar provides a maximum of 6.5 hours of continuing education (CPE) credits for accounting professionals. In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, CPE credits have been granted based on a 50-minute hour.

CPE

NBAA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website www.nasbaregistry.org.

Learning Objectives

Completion of NBAA’s Business Aviation Taxes Seminar will achieve the following learning objectives:

  • Review the importance of depreciation and the various methods, including MARCS.
  • Discuss the types of reimbursements that occur under Part 91 and 135 for non-business use of aircraft and implications for IRS and SEC compliance.
  • Analyze common state tax planning strategies including aircraft leasing, fly away, occasional sale and other exemptions.
  • Understand aircraft related disclosures for public companies, including SEC reporting vs fringe benefits/SIFL inputed income.
  • Analyze the excess business loss limitation rules, interest deduction limitation, and changes/limits on commuting flights.
  • Explain best practices for working with an aircraft management company, to include the application of FET exemptions for certain payments from aircraft owners to management companies.

CLE Credit

NBAA will provide all registered attendees with an emailed attendance confirmation letter following the Business Aviation Taxes Seminar. Attendance and participation in all sessions, could be eligible for a maximum of 6.5 hours of continuing legal education (CLE).

NBAA does not submit this program for approval to any state bar or CLE provider. Attendees seeking CLE credit must submit their own application using information from this event page.

The attendance confirmation letter may be used as part of your individual application to your state bar for CLE credit. The number of CLE credits listed is the maximum allowable credits attendees can request from their state CLE provider, based on attendance for the full session.
