NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) is always a must-attend event, and this year is no different. The show, which runs from Oct.16-18 in Orlando, FL, will feature more than 1,100 exhibitors and two expansive static displays of aircraft. The show’s expected 25,000 attendees are also invited to attend dozens of education sessions covering topics of interest to all industry professionals. NBAA’s Meritorious Service to Aviation Award, which recognizes extraordinary lifelong contributions to aviation, will be presented to the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) at NBAA-BACE. Founded in 1943, the WASP organization was an adjunct to the Army Air Forces’ efforts during World War II. Accepting the award on behalf of the group will be Erin Miller, who was instrumental in pushing legislation to get inurnment rights at Arlington National Cemetery for the WASP after her grandmother, WASP Elaine Harmon, passed away. With less than three months to go before the 2018 NBAA-BACE comes to Orlando, FL, organizers report strong manufacturer interest for exhibiting at the show’s two expansive static display areas. “This year promises to offer one of the largest and most diverse lineups of business aircraft we’ve ever seen at NBAA-BACE,” said Joe Hart, NBAA director for static displays and regional forums. CNN commentator Paul Begala and political consultant Matt Schlapp will present an informative “both sides of the aisle” look at the 2018 mid-term elections at the Day 2 Keynote at NBAA-BACE. With vastly differing views on today’s political climate, Begala and Schlapp are sure to offer contrasting and colorful insights into the hottest political issues facing our nation heading into the mid-term elections. “These recognized thought leaders, from the political left and right, will each surely bring their own unique brand of clarity and style to the discussion,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.
