Tax Planning Opportunities and Challenges for Aircraft Owners

Learn how new rules and changes in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act present both opportunities and challenges for aircraft owners. This session will discuss opportunities with the changes to the depreciation rules, strategies for dealing with the repeal of IRC § 1031 Like Kind Exchanges, loss of deductions for commuting expenses and Miscellaneous Itemized Deductions including Employee Business Expenses, disallowance of certain entertainment expenses, and the repeal of Federal Excise Tax on aircraft management fees.

Cybersecurity: How to Protect your Business Aircraft from Cyber Attacks

Cyber threats are prevalent in today’s world. We see reports almost weekly about businesses – some of the largest in the country – and even our federal government, getting hacked by outsiders with malicious intent. The threats are real and can occur on the ground and in the air. If you’re online, you’re more vulnerable. This session will educate the audience about some of the more common threats facing those who own, operate or fly on business aircraft, what the cybersecurity landscape looks like, and the steps that can and should be taken to safeguard data. This session would offer best practices to ensure security not only for today but looking out in the future.
