Social Media Firsts Mark NBAA’s 2019 Convention
Oct. 19, 2019
Before heading to Las Vegas, attendees of the 2019 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) should know about several new, exciting initiatives the association has planned to engage show-goers in an interactive, online conversation about what’s driving the show’s energy and excitement.
From a first-ever social media “wall” featuring attendees’ Tweets and Instagram posts, to a new social media influencer program designed to spread the word to a larger audience about business aviation’s biggest event – engagement surrounding NBAA-BACE is expected to be at an all-time high.
“One of the best and easiest ways to find out about what’s new and exciting at NBAA-BACE is through everyone’s favorite social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube,” said Dan Hubbard, NBAA’s senior vice president of communications. “We encourage attendees to be a part of the conversation about the show by using #NBAA19 on social media.”
Before the event opens, NBAA’s social media platforms will provide helpful logistical information for attendees and exhibitors, and also share what’s happening behind the scenes, as the industry’s biggest event comes together at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport (HND). From the time the first exhibitors arrive at the show, until the last aircraft leaves the exhibit hall, NBAA’s social media feeds will bring NBAA-BACE to life with videos, photos, articles, daily attendee surveys and more.
Attendees should look for locations on the exhibit hall floor and at the aircraft display where they will be encouraged to “Snap and Share” selfies using #NBAA19. The new Urban Air Mobility/Unmanned Aircraft Systems display area, the aircraft at HND and the convention center, the Innovation Zone and NBAA’s new Professional Membership Lounge are just some of the features attendees will want to share on social media.
Attendees also are encouraged to download the NBAA events app before heading to Las Vegas. The free mobile app – available for the iPad, iPhone and Android smartphones – helps show-goers make preparations, enhances event experiences and serves as a useful reference all year long. “Social media allows attendees, as well as those unable to come to Las Vegas, to be a part of business aviation’s most important event,” said Hubbard. “Each year, the number of social media impressions about the show grows and you’ll want to be a part of that conversation.”
