The 2019 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) promises to be an exciting display of the latest products, services and technologies available throughout business aviation, with the show featuring a new look, a new feel and a new energy.

“While several new exhibits, featured presentations and guest speakers have already been announced, there are many ‘hidden gems’ that will surprise and delight, and they all have one thing in common: they will fire the imagination, and give attendees a look at the cutting-edge products, issues and trends that will shape the future of business aviation,” said Chris Strong, NBAA’s senior vice president for conventions and membership. “In fact, I absolutely believe that everyone attending 2019 NBAA-BACE will find something at the show they’ve never seen before.”

Strong noted the following “hidden gems” for this year’s event:

1. Newly Certified Business Aircraft

In addition to showcasing nearly 100 business aircraft across two display areas, NBAA-BACE also will offer attendees the unparalleled opportunity to closely examine several newly certified business jets, including the Cessna Citation Longitude, Bombardier Global 6500, Gulfstream G600 and Embraer’s Praetor 500. Turbines won’t be the only newly approved aircraft types on display, however, with Tecnam’s P2012 Traveller piston-twin commuter aircraft also making its first NBAA-BACE appearance following FAA certification in August.

2. The New NBAA TV LIVE Studio on the Show Floor

While NBAA TV has long been a staple of NBAA-BACE, this year’s coverage will for the first time originate from a dedicated live studio on the show floor, across from the NBAA Booth, N1835. Live streaming of the show will include topical interviews with prominent industry figures and key exhibitors throughout the three days of NBAA-BACE. Can’t get to the show? You can view NBAA TV Live on the show’s Newsroom web page.

3. A Focus on Workforce Development

Initiatives by NBAA and others to attract and retain top professionals in business aviation will be in focus throughout the show week. For example, on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m., the “Developing Women Leaders” session will explore how mentorships – whether formal or informal, internal or external – can help balance the scales for rising female aviation executives. The session will be moderated by NBAA Vice President of Educational Strategy and Workforce Development Jo Damato, and feature respected panelists Sheryl Barden, with Aviation Personal International; JetSuite’s Stephanie Chung; Candace Covington, with Adobe Inc.; and Textron Aviation’s Kriya Shortt.

4. YoPros Lend a ‘Helpy’ Hand

NBAA’s Young Professionals in Business Aviation (YoPro) will continue their NBAA-BACE presence this year, but with a twist. The annual YoPro Networking Reception, taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 5:30 p.m., will include a first-time “Helpy Hour” community service project, in partnership with Three Square, southern Nevada’s only food bank. Everyone participating in the networking reception can help feed young people in need by filling a “Weekend Bag” of nonperishable food items.

5. Jetman, and Other Exciting Keynoters

Yves Rossy, also known as “Jetman” – the first man in the history of aviation to fly with a jet-propelled wing – will inspire attendees with his incredible story. Rossy is just one of several first-time keynoters at the show.
