Day 1 Keynote Session Kicks Off 2019 NBAA-BACE in Thrilling Style
A captivating indoor aerial drone light show kicked off the Day 1 Keynote at a future-focused NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), setting the stage for a show unlike any of the association’s previous gatherings. Attendees heard from pilot, businessman and aviation champion Ross Perot, Jr., recipient of NBAA’s Meritorious Service to Aviation Award; tech entrepreneur and pilot Sky Dayton; and Walmart director Steuart L. Walton, founder and chairman of Game Composites. The session closed with basketball superstar Earvin “Magic” Johnson talking about how business aviation has helped him in his life after basketball. “This plane has put years on my life for almost 20 years now,” Johnson said of his Gulfstream GIII. “The things I can accomplish now, I never could without it. NBAA TV: New and Innovative Aircraft on Display at NBAA-BACE
NBAA-BACE is where the future of aviation is on display, with nearly 100 business aircraft available for viewing on aircraft displays at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport, including many innovative and newly certified aircraft. “At this year’s aircraft display we’ve got a full house. We’ve really got them packed in this year,” said NBAA Director of Aircraft Displays and Regional Forums Joe Hart. “We’re expecting aircraft announcements. Announced at NBAA-BACE: New 2020 Summit Aimed at Growing Business Aviation Use of Sustainable Fuels
Aviation leaders today announced a new Business Aviation Global Sustainability Summit, to be held next March in Washington, DC, aimed at accelerating the availability and use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). “Business aviation has long made sustainability a priority, and we have made tangible progress,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “This summit marks the next step in focusing on how to accelerate the fuels’ adoption and use.” The coalition involved in the summit includes GAMA and NBAA, as well as the European Business Aviation Association, the International Business Aviation Council and the National Air Transportation Association.
