Food Safety Certificate Training Certification Course

An additional $150 fee is required to attend this pre-conference workshop.

Passengers often assess their satisfaction with their flight by the quality of the meals served on board. As flight attendants, it is not only important to provide high-quality food; the safety of your passengers is a top priority. Did you know that foodborne illness can nearly be eliminated if food is handled properly from the time it is ordered to the time it is served? Managing food safety can be difficult and worrisome given the environment onboard an aircraft. With proper training, you can be proactive in preventing foodborne illness and ensuring your crew and passengers remain safe.

Each attendee will receive a Food Safety Training Manual, Allergy Training Manual, Gluten-Free Training Manual and more from Air Culinaire Worldwide. Upon completion of the course, students will receive an Aviation Food Safety Certificate from Air Culinaire Worldwide and Aircare FACTS as well as a Food Handler Certificate.

Contractor Forum

After initial training, there is often uncertainty about the next steps in establishing a path towards contract flying. This forum is designed to help answer some questions and provide discussion points for candidates to arm themselves with knowledge and awareness.
Staffing agencies will have representatives in attendance to aid in navigating their processes and current contract FAs will provide first-hand accounts of transitioning from full-time jobs into contracting and what that may entail. Come with your questions and engage in building your way towards contracting success!

This forum is open exclusively to In-Flight Managers and Lead Flight Attendants. The platform will be an open discussion on topics and challenges those in this leadership role face. Topics will focus on best practices, innovative training techniques, as well as the sharing of ideas and resources. We will welcome sponsoring catering community members during lunch, to discuss current trends and needs, challenges and possible solutions to common difficulties. Please bring along your “great finds” ideas to share with the group.

The Aircare Reduced Oxygen Breathing Device – or ROBD – is a device that induces hypoxia without risk of decompression sickness, inner ear or sinus trauma, and other harsh physiological effects. Attendees will be provided an option to experience the effects of hypoxia in a safe, controlled environment while being tasked with psychomotor and cognitive testing. Recognition of your personal signs and symptoms could help prevent a future disaster.
