Breakout Sessions: Aircraft Liens and Foreclosures: Making Sure You Get Paid When You Work This session will focus on the availability and use of aircraft liens to get paid for maintenance work when the aircraft owner or operator refuses to pay. We will discuss when liens are available, how they are perfected and what is involved in enforcing a lien against an aircraft. Eligible for IA renewal credit
Non-Destructive Testing of Composites Non-destructive testing (NDT) of aerospace composites involves use of a variety of inspection technologies. The NDT technician requires extensive knowledge in applications that would detect the discontinuity of interest. In the FAA aircraft inspection industry, composite designs can vary from flat metal to metal bonded structures to multilayer hybrid composites with odd geometries. In this session, you’ll get an understanding of what knowledge is required in this specialty and which NDT techniques would be best suited for each type of composite material and flaw of interest. Eligible for IA renewal credit Space-Based Inflight Connectivity Technology This session will educate the audience on two key technological attributes of space-based inflight mobile connectivity; frequency spectrum and orbital planes and then further discuss the regulatory governances associated with each. Breakout Sessions: Is Your ADS-B Install Compliant? In 2020, the failure rate of ADS-B equipped aircraft was over 9%. This exceptionally high average failure rate is derived from the difference between “Good Installs” and “Non-Performing Emitters.” According to the FAA, these failures are almost exclusively a result of ADS-B system misconfigurations deemed as “Installation Errors,” and not transponder or WAAS GPS equipment failures. This session will discuss the proper training and test equipment required of installers, to help ensure that ADS-B equipment is installed and operating properly. Eligible for IA renewal credit
Why Invest in a Maintenance Program? Maintenance expenses for a business jet today are not only hard to predict, but they are one of the leading costs associated with owning and operating an aircraft – only superseded by fuel and sometimes Wi-Fi access. Some new owners may expect maintenance to be covered by manufacturers’ warranties, then are surprised when unscheduled repair costs are not included. This session will explain the risks of not having your aircraft on a maintenance program, and why enrolling it will add value to your asset. Eligible for IA renewal credit
The Value of Your Aircraft Records What are your risk-management strategies for record storage? This session will focus on all that’s involved: management of your aircraft asset financial value, warranty concerns, lease obligations and most importantly, ensuring and proving compliance with regulations by properly maintaining your logbooks and supporting documentation.
