How Attendees Can Support Sustainability – 2022 NBAA-BACE
NBAA’s goal is to make NBAA-BACE the most environmentally sustainable tradeshow in the world. This can only be achieved with the help of attendees, exhibitors and partners.
Attendees won’t need to go out of their way to be sustainable at NBAA-BACE. Learn about the easy ways you can make an individual impact on the show’s sustainability efforts.
Think Before You Throw
Recycling and composting bins are located throughout the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) so you’ll never have to go far to responsibly dispose of your waste. Take a moment to consider what goes where.
- COMPOST: Food scraps, compostable silverware
- RECYCLING: Plastic bottles, aluminum cans, paper, glass bottles, cardboard, pamphlets, flyers
- LANDFILL: Plastic utensils, chip bags, plastic wrappers, straws, plastic cups
Bring Your Favorite Reusable Water Bottle
Filtered water stations will be available throughout the OCC Just say “no” to disposable plastic water bottles and carry along your reusable version!
Go Meatless
More than 7% of global greenhouse gas emissions are from the meat industry. Eating a vegetarian diet for just one day can cut your carbon footprint by 7.5 pounds of CO₂. Plant-based food options are healthy for the environment and for you!
Go Green in Your Hotel Room
Be sure to take advantage of towel and linen reuse initiatives offered by your hotel. Don’t forget to turn off all lights and electronics when you leave your room each day!
Stay in the NBAA housing block, booked through onPeak. These hotels have committed to engage in sustainable practices.
Take Low Impact Transportation
The OCCC has pedestrian walking bridges to help attendees connect to nearby hotels on foot.
Use shared NBAA-BACE shuttles from OCCC to Orlando hotels and the aircraft display at Orlando Executive Airport.
Go Digital
Many exhibitors have digital resources. Ask for them instead of printed resources. Be mindful of what you’re taking away from the show.
Download and use the 2022 NBAA-BACE mobile app. There will be no printed show guide.
Donate Unwanted Items at the End of NBAA-BACE
NBAA, Freeman and the OCCC are working with local Orlando charities to collect unwanted exhibit and marketing materials that could be useful to those in need.
This reuse program is a great way to support NBAA’s environmental sustainability goals – by preventing functional items from being added to landfills – and instead giving these items a second life within the local community.
For NBAA-BACE attendees with small amounts of excess show materials, there will be marked donation stations positioned by all entrances and exits of the exhibit hall.
Exhibitors with larger items for donation may sign up to participate in the NBAA-BACE Material Donation Program.
Any person who attends an NBAA convention, conference, seminar or other program grants permission to NBAA, its employees and agents (collectively "NBAA") to record his or her visual/audio images, including, but not limited to, photographs, digital images, voices, sound or video recordings, audio clips, or accompanying written descriptions, and, without notifying such person, to use his or her name and such images for any purpose of NBAA, including advertisements for NBAA and its programs.
