Agenda – 2022 NBAA PDP Course: Aviation Security and Awareness Training

This PDP course is designed to engage aviation professionals in a dynamic exploration of existing vulnerabilities, culture, policies and solutions. It will change the way you think and operate in both your personal and professional life, whether traveling internationally or domestically.
Breaks will be every 50 minutes as needed.
8 a.m. – 8:50 a.m. |
Tabletop Security ScenariosThis is a team building, interactive exercise that will challenge your team to resolve various security breaches and threats while working together. |
9 a.m. – 12 p.m. |
Aviation Security Culture/Policies/Active ShooterIn this module, you will learn why a strong security culture is the foundation of any successful security program and how establishing a healthy, viable security culture is necessary to maintain long term security effectiveness for every flight department. You will also learn how you play an important role in taking the culture to a higher standard by being proactive and making better informed decisions. Policies/Corporate Security InterfaceDiscuss policies and procedures that must be in place to prevent a security breach and demonstrates how security incidents have occurred as a result of personnel not following policy. This section will also discuss interactions and benefits of the flight department and corporate security working together to create a more secure operation. Active ShooterDiscusses active shooter events and provides the student with practical tactics and concepts to increase survivability during an incident. |

Personal Protection and AwarenessPersonal protection and awareness are the keys to survival in any hostile environment. This module will give the students the tools to prevent, detect or respond to a given threat both on the road and in their personal lives. Also taught are criminal methodologies and how a potential attacker may identify and select you as a victim, and how to prevent that potential attack. |
3 p.m. – 4 p.m. |
Hotel SecurityHotels have a variety of security vulnerabilities that you need to be aware of. In this module, learn how you can increase your security while traveling by implementing additional hotel security protocols. |
4 p.m. – 5 p.m. |
Rideshare SecuritysLearn valuable lessons when it comes to ridesharing. This chapter will expose you to the security issues you could potentially face using this service and how to avoid becoming a victim of a criminal driver. |
