Held in partnership with the Massachusetts Airport Management Association (MAMA), this one-day course offers a comprehensive exploration of leadership, focusing on practical skills and theories that can be applied to real-world situations. It begins with a foundational module that defines leadership, highlighting both positive and negative characteristics and providing various leadership models to help participants understand how to tailor their leadership style to their unique contexts. Participants, even those with experience, will gain fresh insights into leadership.

Subsequent modules dive deeper into specific aspects of leadership, starting with the concept of creating a motivational environment rather than directly motivating team members. The course then distinguishes between coaching and mentoring, offering techniques for leaders to apply in both roles. The program also addresses team dynamics, emphasizing how to lead teams through various developmental stages, handle conflicts, and foster diversity and inclusion. Ethical leadership is another key theme, with a focus on understanding and applying ethical principles in leadership. The final module encourages leaders to invest in their own growth, exploring strategies for ongoing self-improvement and skill development.

This course fulfills NBAA PDP Objective Leadership L2.
