NBAA is supporting the International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA), on an important online forum featuring U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and other women leaders, to be held on June 25.

More than 100 speakers from around the world will cover topics such as leading in financial crisis, work/life balance, mentorship and more. Rene Banglesdorf, CEO of NBAA member company Charlie Bravo Aviation and recent nominee to the DOT’s Women in Aviation Advisory Board, will chair the conference.

“NBAA is pleased to support the IAWA’s 3rd Annual GA Leadership Conference,” said Jo Damato, CAM, NBAA’s vice president of educational strategy and workforce development. “IAWA’s work to inspire future female leaders in aviation reinforces NBAA’s values of diversity and inclusion. We especially appreciate the time and effort many NBAA members have dedicated to IAWA in support of this general aviation-focused conference.”

Damato is a panelist for the session “Diversity = Outstanding Performance. How to make it real.”

“IAWA speakers are pioneers in aviation who continue to forge their own leadership oaths, while also reaching out to help the next generation of women in aviation,” said Sierra Grimes, NBAA’s senior manager of registration and programs, and a previous speaker at IAWA’s annual event. “This is a unique opportunity for women in the general aviation space to curate an event focused on this segment of the industry.”

Brittany Davies, NBAA’s Northeast regional representative, knows the value of IAWA-hosted events, having attended last year’s conference.

“The forum was a time filled with inspiration and candid thoughts about becoming a better professional,” said Davies. “Career obstacles were openly discussed, and both women and men lifted each other’s spirits, while feeding the passion each carried for business aviation.”
