To stay engaged with operators on important aspects of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) and International Standard for Business Aircraft Handlers (IS-BAH) programs, the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) offers a webinar series in conjunction with nearly 20 qualified program support affiliates (PSA) to provide safety information in a pre-recorded or live webinar format.

“Providing safety content from a virtual format is an important option for industry professionals, especially during the pandemic,” said Katherine Hilst, IS-BAO operations manager. “The webinars are recorded so operators can access them from any device at their convenience.”

The webinars are free and presented via GoTo Webinar format, however, dial-in options are included. Topics range from factors to consider when prioritizing safety to security issues post-pandemic to human factors of flying. The next live webinar, presented by Polaris Aero, is set for Nov. 18 and looks at the issue of resiliency.

“The goal of the PSA program is for IBAC to present qualified third-party vendors that will support organizations seeking to implement the IBAC standards programs through to registration,” said Andrew Karas, IS-BAO program director. “The SafetyNet webinars also provide our PSAs a free platform to share their expertise with our IS-BAO community.”

Though the program has been in place for a number of years, the number of sessions offered has increased since 2020.

“The PSA presenters have been eager to provide valuable content for the SafetyNet series so we appreciate their enthusiasm,” Hilst said. “We have doubled the number of presentations since the pandemic and I don’t see that slowing down at this time.”
