New NBAA Member Categories

Recently, NBAA updated its member categories to better serve our members, ensure we continue to represent the industry’s ever-changing landscape and ultimately to ensure we’re helping your business thrive.

Under the new structure, NBAA membership includes three member types: Operating, Business and Professional memberships. These changes are intended to make NBAA more welcoming and reduce complexity.

We will automatically update your membership to the appropriate category, so there’s nothing for you to do. You’ll see your new member category reflected on your My NBAA Profile page.

Operating Member

Formerly Corporate & Business members

Includes any person or entity that owns or operates aircraft, primarily not for hire, as a transportation aid in the conduct of its business or activities and:

• Uses pilots holding the qualifications required by the appropriate regulatory authority.
• Less than 50 percent of its total sales volume, including that of all subsidiaries and affiliates, is from products or services sold to business aviation clients.

Business Member

Formerly Associate members

Includes any person or entity that has a commercial interest in business aviation and does not qualify for membership as an Operating member.

Business members must be engaged in a field or endeavor whose aims are consistent with the principles and interest of the association.

Professional Member

Formerly Business Aviation Contractors

Includes any person with a pervasive interest in business aviation to include: contract pilots, flight attendants and maintenance personnel. Students, recent graduates, retirees, former military, and those not currently employed by a company eligible for NBAA membership are now welcome in the new structure.
